The Society of St Vincent de Paul is an international organisation of Catholic lay people, men and women, who practice Christianity by helping those in need on a one to one basis.
The Society of Saint Vincent de Paul (SSVP) members make up local groups knows as SSVP Conferences. The Conferences are linked to local Catholic parishes, although not all parishes have a SSVP Conference.
St. Margaret’s SSVP was the very first Conference in Scotland, the first meeting was held here on 30th July 1854. We are still thriving solely because of the wonderful generosity of our parishioners; without their constant contributions we could not do any of our much-needed work.
THANK YOU ALL!
We serve Christ by serving those in need with with love, respect, hope & dignity, helping people temporarily and encouraging them to take control of their lives.
We can help with material needs such as food, furniture and occasionally gas and electricity top ups. Our Furniture Warehouse also accepts donations, further details below.
We also help with spiritual needs such as visiting the sick, housebound and bereaved. Sometimes all it takes is a friendly face and a listening ear to let people know they are not alone.
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul can help those in need by providing items of furniture.
Our warehouse is located at:
